　　美國iRobot公司於1990年由美國麻省理工學院（MIT）教授羅德尼·布魯克斯（Rodney Brooks）及其同事科林·安格爾（Colin Angle）和海倫·格雷納（Helen Greiner）創立，為全球知名MIT計算器科學與人工智慧實驗室技術轉移及投資成立的機器人產品與技術專業研發公司。

　　iRobot發明各型軍用、警用、救難、偵測機器人，輕巧實用，可以掃雷、偵測敵軍，被軍方、警方、救難單位用於各種不同場合。

　　2002年9月國家地理頻道《古夫金字塔密室》探險，那具具備光纖鏡頭、高解像度相機、全球最小地面雷達儀的鑽臂機器人“金字塔漫游者”就是iRobot的產品。美國9·11事件中，深入世貿中心底下協助搜索生還者的四具機器人“PackBot”也是iRobot的產品。還有協助美國大兵在阿富汗山區“獵殺賓拉登”的機器人，也是iRobot的產品。
